This is the inaugural edition of the Booze Business blog.
My name is Arthur Shapiro and I've worked in the spirits and wine industry for over 25 years.
For 14 of those years I was with the Seagram Spirits and Wine Company in virtually all marketing positions in the US and some globally. At one point I was EVP Marketing for the US.
Since Seagram I've been a consultant to many of the leading manufacturers and more than my share of new product wannabes.
My intent is to discuss the booze biz and perhaps provide some insights into the companies, the brands, the people, the marketing and the consumer.
